This one hour special class is about exploring movement and giving you the opportunity to be free and feel good in your body. It will be a practice and way of tuning in which will also deepen your asana practice.

Cushla comes from a large movement background, studying ballet from the age of 5, completing a Bachelor of Performance Arts, Majoring in Contemporary Dance from Unitec and working with dance companies and New Zealand choreographers. Using her knowledge, experience and background in dance, Cushla invites you to let go, feel good in your body and move freely without having to look a particular way.

Be prepared to let go of how you look, let go of structure and simply move, get silly, shake a little, wiggle a little. Expect to be moving freely the whole time, feel good, be free and release. 

You'll finish the session feeling great!

Requirements
Willingness to have fun and space where you move freely and feel comfortable and where you won't be interrupted.
Come in clothes that you can move in.

Transitions Workshop

This two-hour transitions Workshop will give you the tools you need to practise your transitions with confidence. Chaturanga dandasana or a “yogic push-up” is a foundational pose in Baptiste Yoga and traditional Sun Salutations.  This workshop will break down the basics of chaturanga, and provide you with tips and tools to amplify your chaturanga practice. You will explore the flow and fundamentals of low plank (Chaturanga Dandasana), upward facing dog (Urdhva Mukha Svanasana), and downward facing dog (Adho Mukha Svanasana). You will also take part in valuable partner work to help with awareness and stability in your chaturanga. 

All levels are welcome. This workshop will be particularly helpful for those new to Basecamp or new to power yoga. In addition to experienced practitioners to go back to the basic and uplevels your transitions. 

Be prepared to sweat! You will be moving and flowing. Bring your mat, towel, and water bottle.

Meditation 101

Are you new to meditation or looking to learn more about cultivating a meditation practice? You may have heard about the many benefits of meditation, but may not know where to begin.

Our Meditation for Beginners Workshop will demystify the world of meditation! This workshop will help you gain the tools you need to begin your own regular meditation practice.You can expect an enlightening and informative session that will help you understand how meditation works, provide tools for success for a consistent practice, teach you simple meditation techniques you can do at home, and provide a safe space for you to be curious about meditation.

This session is a workshop format. There will be discussion, journaling, multiple short meditations, and group sharing. There will be ample opportunity to ask questions and test out what works best for you. Wear comfortable clothes and bring a journal.

Get Upside Down!

A Handstand Workshop

Taught by James Anson-Holland

This is an invigorating two-hour workshop designed to elevate your inversion practice.

The focus of this session will be entirely on developing your handstand from the ground up. It will also provide you with an opportunity to explore transitions through, into, and out of handstand. You will build strength, develop technique, and gain confidence in a safe and fun environment.

A familiarity with power yoga and inversions is recommended for this workshop, however all are welcome to attend.
